Engineers shall not compete unfairly with other engineers by attempting to obtain employment or advancement or professional engagements by taking advantage of a salaried position, by criticizing other engineers, or by other improper or questionable methods.

Code is relevant when:
Engineer competes with another engineer or engineers for employment, advancement, or professional engagement
Code is violated when:
Engineer competes unfairly by criticizing other engineers
OR
Engineer competes unfairly by other improper or questionable methods
Code is not violated when
Engineer does not compete unfairly by criticizing other engineers
AND
Engineer does not compete unfairly by other improper or questionable methods

Code is relevant when:
Engineer competes with another engineer or engineers for employment, advancement, or professional engagement
AND
Engineer has an employer
Code is violated when:
Engineer competes unfairly by taking advantage of his salaried position
Code is not violated when
Engineer does not compete unfairly by taking advantage of his salaried position
