Lord McNair asked Her Majesty's Government:

In the light of the Royal Commission of Inquiry in New South Wales, Australia and recent United Kingdom media reports into the use of Deep Sleep Treatment what enquiries they have initiated into the use of similar psychiatric treatments in the United Kingdom.
Baroness Cumberlege: The Government have initiated no enquiries into the use of such treatments in the United Kingdom.
