While searching through the LMT archives, librarian Jeff Jacobsen uncovered an ad from the fifties in which Dr. Claude Wm. Chamberlain, MD, proclaims "What the electrocardiograph is to the heart specialist and the x-ray to the surgeon, the electropsychometer is to the psychoanalyst." Jeff Jacobsen, when reached for comment, had this to say: "This is an important discovery for Scientologists everywhere!" In a related article in the California newsmagazine, Fortnight, it was disclosed that inventor Volney Mathison originally had patients hold onto ordinary kitchen scouring pads. Mathison had yet to discover the scientific importance of soup cans. |
