Our team did very well indeed in the 2013 NIST OpenKWS evaluation on Vietnamese. The choice of Vietnamese was a bit of a surprise for us (we had not worked on tonal features before), but we were able to pull together a competitive system quickly. Watch out for publications!

The goal of the OpenKWS evaluation was to build a speech recognizer (or a keyword search system) in a new language in less than four weeks.
