Andrew's Leap

Andrew's Leap is a summer program for high school students. In the Summer of 1995 I cotaught a robotics section with Matt Mason.

One group, composed of Mark Firth, Katherine Howell, Jennie Lin, and David Toma, produced two movies: National Robotics Fencing Competition Finals and Amazing Movie.

Here are all the various pieces of animations we produced:

• A block moving across the carpet, moved by hand between each frame.
• A block turning around and moving, moved by a Microbot.
• Another take of the same.
• Moving a block along a line interpolated between two points. The camera is triggered automatically.
• A little block man running around a maze. First cut, just the keyframes.
• Another take of the same.
• First full cut of the same, with lots of simultaneous hand animation.
• Hand claymation testing new characters.
• Take 2 of the same.
• Credits for the fencing movie.
• Titles for the fencing movie.
