In August 2008 I had the chance to visit Sydney, Australia for a few days. The International Joint Conference on Automated Reasoning (IJCAR) took place in the local Mercure hotel.

I was able to look around a bit in Sydney. It is a really intersting city much more European than I would have imagined. A lot of pedestrians everywhere. The botanical garden is really nice and of course darling harbour is a must see.

The social event included a trip into the blue montains. We got a really great view over the landscape.

On the my last day I did a harbor boat tour. I enjoyed learning a bit more about the history of Sydney and the colonization of Australia. The tour also resulted in some really good photos.
