The only explanation that I have is that the unit was in pre-election mode rather than election mode.  Printing the audit log for the vote centers in question would be able to determine if this was the case.

Volusia county indicates that on election morning a precinct AV unit stopped taking ballots at 320 counted.  The poll Worker left unit off waiting for a rover to show up.

 

After waiting a while she turned the unit back on and display read “prepare for election” according to the precinct worker.  Another reports this same type problem but the LCD displayed  Total Count  0 when turned back on?

 

Have you ever heard of this happening before?  Please advise.
