  All GEMS releases are compatible with all 1.94 AVOS ROM releases.  Specific enhanced features of recent AVOS releases may only be supported by similarly recent releases of GEMS but backward compatibility is maintained.  Check the release notes for specific feature requirements.

RELEASE NOTES
Accu-Vote 2000 - Release 1.94f!
Revised March 15, 1999

Purpose

To replace the scrolling race title and distribute other fixes.

Compatibility

The 1.94f! release of the Accu-Vote firmware is based on the 1.94f@ release. The precinct count upload protocol remains compatible with all 1.9x VTS versions. The precinct count download protocol and the memory cards are compatible with previous 1.94 releases.

Precinct Counter (PC) Release

• Replace the scrolling race title in ballot reject messages with a contracted title of the form "123:A RAC..TITLE" that does not delay the ballot return.
• Print the TEST ZERO REPORT in pre-election mode (except for the one printed as part of the download procedure) instead of the ZERO TOTAL REPORT.
• Handle aborting downloads while REQUESTING COMMUNICATION.  Previously we weren't displaying any message until the NO button had been pressed twice and repeated aborts would give a port error.
