Sherry Rose may know due
to the ADA situation in Texas. But
in general, doesn’t it seem likely that a telephone type is the most logical
from a sales perspective. Why have to explain some unusual format keyboard. KISS logic. -----Original Message----- I don't know the answer to that. I
haven't been designing the system. However, I have (in the general
election in Alameda) personally walked blind voters over to the touchscreen,
sat them down, explained the keypad config with the raised bump and everyone
understood it. I don't know what happens when you throw a keypad with a
NumLock, /,*,-,+,Enter,., keys into the mix. Maybe it works for them
too. Whoever is doing the design has probably checked this out - I would
think. -----

VIBS 10key pad So is
the "telephone" style keypad the only ADA compliant format? Has
this been confirmed? Ian -----Original
Message----- Ian, My
comments were spoken in general terms from conversation and research I had done
awhile ago. The issue at hand is to have a device that is ADA compliant
and not a quick fix to the problem. I
certainly did not mean to imply what we were using for the immediate demos was
to be our solution. Our search must continue. Barry -----Original Message----- Barry
Herron had spoken with the some association dealing with the blind (ask him
which one specifically) and they had stated it didn't matter what style of
numeric keypad you had, as long as you told the blind voter which one it
was. Is our search for a telephone style keypad a waste of time? Ian -----Original
Message----- We are aware that it needs
to be presented in the phone keypad orientation, but we had to rush to get you
a keypad for demonstration. We can
have not been able to find one in the phone orientation at all of the local
places, ie Best Buy, CompUSA etc. Vice President of
