Most Cel phones data ports will only allow
for RJ11 (standard telephone Jack) jacks. Those Cels that allow for RS232C connection ( they
will convert the digital signals to audio spectrum to transmit using standard
modem protocol to interface with other non Cel modems)you will need a normal
cable since the PC output will still conceder the Cel a modem of sorts. (DTE to
DCE).

We haven't tried any in Vancouver
yet. For that matter, we haven't tried many land modems yet. There
isn't any reason something like this
wouldn't work with a supported cell phone, but it just hasn't been tried.
We can give you a straight answer to the question once we get some in to try,
but I don't know the realistic timeframes for that to happen. In the mean
time you (or anyone) is welcome to blaze the trail if you like. If it
works, it works.
