Concept 2: Rubber Band Gun
While playing with this toy gun, a child will reveal all secrets of Physics. When the rubber band is set to release, it elongates a certain amount. This affects how far it "flies" when released. This is also affected by an aerodynamic drag force that the rubber band feels while it's in the air. When the rubber band is stretched, it stores the potential energy which changes to kinetic energy when released. The spring, with a spring constant (k), is attached to the trigger which brings it back to place after being pulled. A child will also learn that the rubber band will start to fall due to gravity.
Directions: This toy is really simple. All he/she has to do is set the rubber band on the gun and pull the trigger. To set the band, first hook it on the front side and then, on the back side (which is connected to the trigger).
The entire body will be made of wood which is light and inexpensive. Because this toy may hurt people (not too badly), parents should always keep an eye on the child while toying with this gun. WARNING: Use for ages 7 and up.
