4/24: SGI executable for the radiosity visualization
program demonstrated by
Andrew Willmott
today is available
on the web
and also at
/afs/cs/project/anim/local/bin/radvis, for local users.

Class on 4/29 will meet in Wean 5205, not DH A317, because we'll spend
the class period doing demos of your P4 (radiosity) programs.
I've reserved all of Wean 5205 and the first row of 5202 during that
the class period.
- 4/23: some bugs in the OpenGL version of the P4 support software
were fixed. See the news group for details.

- 4/22: I posted a message to the class news group clarifying how to
calculate form factors for P4 without trig calls. -Paul
- Assignment P4, Radiosity is
due 27 April.
- 4/3: Class handout on
procedural solid texture is available.Additional sample code is available
in the same directory.
- 4/3: Sample pictures demonstrating
procedural texture are available.
- 3/19: Assignment P3, Ray Tracing is
due 10 April.

- 2/27 The mid-semester grades you receive shortly will be figured based
on W1 & midterm, but not P1, which we haven't finished grading yet.
- 2/25 I put
notes from Tuesday's lecture
(compression) on the web after class.
- An intense time was had by all at the Midterm, 20 Feb. :-).
- 2/20 If you didn't pick up your graded W1 assignment yet,
you can do so in class on 2/25 or come to Paul's office.
- Midterm will be 20 Feb. in class; review in class on 18 Feb.
- Morph animation will be shown and discussed in class 13 Feb.
- 2/11: reading assignments are now indicated on the
syllabus.
- 2/7: Assignment W1 is due Thursday 13 Feb.

- 2/5:
It's OK to turn in PC (or other non-Sun, non-SGI) executables
when you turn in your morph assignment. Give us enough that we
can do a test run of your program, however.

All software should now be available (for both Sun4 and SGI).

invention of television on
channel 13, Mon 10 Feb., 9-10pm.
- 2/1:
Face pictures are now on-line. We beautified many of you, and
each of you should find an a.tiff and b.tiff in your p1 directories.
- 1/23: If you didn't pick up a copy of the Beier-Neely paper for
homework P1 in class , get one from
Phyllis Pomerantz.
- 1/25:
GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN TUE 1/28
in Doherty 4301 after class (10:15-12:30am)
for the morph assignment.
