Summary Cognitive robotics is a new
approach to robot programming based on high level primitives for
perception and action. These primitives draw inspiration from ideas
in cognitive science, such as visual routines, dual coding theory, and
affordances. Students will experiment with these primitives and help
develop new ones using the Tekkotsu software framework on the Chiara,
a new robot created at Carnegie Mellon. Prior robotics experience is
not necessary, but strong programming skills are
required. |
Grading
Labs/homeworks 25%; midterm exam 25%; final exam 25%; course project & presentation 25%.
