I have spent the past fifteen years working in a variety of roles in the software industry. Prior to joining the faculty at the Tepper School of Business, I was an Applications Architect at FreeMarkets (since acquired by Ariba) where I was responsible for the overall design and architecture of many of our technology products. I also managed product development teams, played key roles in evaluating and setting corporate technology strategy, and conducted deep technical and strategic due diligence for merger and acquisition projects.
Earlier in my career, I developed air-traffic control software at IBM, military simulations (wargames) at OptiMetrics, and decision support systems at Carnegie Group (RIP).
I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, where my doctoral research focused on design tools for software architects, and a B.S. in Philosophy and Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
