The 1999 Mobile Robot Exhibition: Participant

Butler and Leguin are a pair of cooperating
heterogeneous robots entered in the competition.
Besides the advances in the use of computer vision, sensor
fusion, and dynamic sensor allocation, Butler
and Leguin attempt to engage and interact with
the audience. This demo will focus on how the
USF Art department has helped to create
"delightful" robots using interactive media,
and how the AI constrained the Art and vice
versa. Details of how inflatable sculptures,
costuming, multimedia were constructed and attached
will be presented.
