Occupation
I am currently working as a Research Programmer at National Robotics Engineering Consortium (NREC). I am also studying part-time a M.Sc. in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University.Research interests
My focus is on developing Machine Learning and Computer Vision algorithms to help robots to understand their environment. I am researching in probabilistic graphical models applied to image segmentation and object recognition areas. I am developing a platform that uses input sensors (such as cameras) and produces cost/object maps which are used for various purposes, including vehicle safeguarding and detection of specific objects in the environment (i.e. people, trees, road). This research involves the following fields: Machine Learning (Graphical Models, Bayesian Networks, Statistical Pattern Recognition). Computer Vision (Segmentation, Object Tracking, Classification for high dimensional problems). Mathematical Analysis.I am currently working on this project: Fully autonomous systems capable of following pre-taught paths while detecting and avoiding obstacles .
