This is the latest picture of my first Fig, although the picture is over a year old. This variety of tree grows so well that I have already layered the top of the tree to make a mame bonsai and started a new leader. The trunk is currently about twice as wide as in the picture.

Below are some (not yet completely image processed) thumbnail views of this tree after its first wiring (Jan. '97) and it's second repotting (Feb. '97). Clicking on any of them will take you to a page that shows the history of the tree. (The page contains 3 full size pictures.)

The first repotting was from the plastic nursery pot into the clay pot right after I bought the tree. The soil I used for this first repotting was too coarse, and I didn't clean all the old soil off the roots, so that the granularity of the two soils didn't match. The coarse soil dried out very quickly while the old soil was still wet.
