![]() (41) Interesting scene inside another room in Phipps. Those would be Koi carp inside the pond, I believe. 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 14mm, f/4, 1/20s, ISO 800, monopod. |
![]() (42) Grasses sway in the wind, their seeds illuminated by the setting sun. 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 28mm, f/8, ISO 200 and 1/200s handheld pushed a fraction of a stop. |
![]() (43) 100% crop of a red-tailed hawk, shot with a 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 at 200mm, f/8, ISO 400, 1/800s. The hawk was circling at at decent altitude over Flagstaff Hill at the time. This was underexposed -- I suspect that the brightness of the sunny sky combined with using an automatic metering mode without EV comp was the reason -- so I had to push constrast and EV compensation during raw development, followed by some noise removal and sharpening using the trial version of JASC's Paint Shop Pro, version 9. Spot-metering on the hawk would have been ideal, but that's probably beyond my tracking ability. The noise removal actually did a pretty good job. *shrug* If memory serves, this image was taken using continuous AF. |
![]() (44) Like water off a duck's back, they say. 100% crop instead of thumbnail. Shot using the 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 at f/6.3, ISO 800, 1/160s and an FL50. |
![]() (45) No, I'm not going to take your hazelnut... Possessive squirrel photographed with the 50mm f/2 at f/8, 1/100s, ISO 800 and the FL-50. |
