Grasshopper

(36) T'is the same grasshopper, perhaps slightly more alert due to my use of flash for the previous photograph.

Sign

(37) I took this photograph via a 1/8s exposure of an illuminated sign, at night, from across a road over which a bus was traveling. Mounted on the Purnell Center, the sign may be some student's art project. The 'S' blinks on and off at intervals of several seconds. Below that, one can see the fainter traces of a much smaller sign that usually lists events such as upcoming performances and exhibitions.

Freshmen on the cut

(38) At the end of Orientation, new students and their Orientation Counselors party on the "Cut" between the Purnell Center and the University Center (not shown).

Polistes dominulus

(39) I've finally identified this as a European paper wasp, Polistes dominulus.

Honey bee

(40) This is might be an ordinary European honeybee (Apis mellifera).
