Research Scientist
The Robotics Institute
Carnegie Mellon University
Background
I was on the research faculty of the
Robotics Institute
at Carnegie Mellon University from 1996 to 2005.
Prior to 1996 I was
a postdoc at the Computer Vision Research Laboratory at UMass, Amherst,
where I also got my degree. Since 2005 I've been an associate professor
at Penn State University.
This 30 camera servo system was unleashed at Super Bowl XXXV.
Other project members were Omead Amidi, Ryan Miller, Wei Hua, John
Urbanic (from the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center), and of course,
Takeo Kanade. My main contribution was sensor calibration algorithms
and methods for determining servo point location using a
terrain model of the field. Click here
