| Notes | (1) The Medical Staff operates the Patient Care Facility, which consists of 120 Surgical Suites (Operating Theatre, 2 Recovery Rooms, Sensor/Imaging Facility, Laboratory/Pharmacy) and 240 Patient Wards (see Note 2). The Support Staff provides all necessary maintenance services, including housekeeping and catering, for the Patient Care Facility and for the Medical and Small Craft Crew and Small Craft Support personnel, with the exception of smallcraft maintenance. (2) Each Patient Ward consists of a 10-bed Intensive Care/Isolation Unit, a 20-bed Critical Care Unit, a 20-bed Light Care Unit, and a Convalescent Unit with 5 bays of 10 beds each. Patient load is limited to 50 per ward under normal circumstances. (3) Nominal Life Support capacity is 40,000 for a maximum of 90 days, allowing up to 12,000 additional Convalescent Care patients to be carried if required. Some ships in this class built for the GSN will be named for major figures from the history of the Church of Humanity Unchained; other ships built for the GSN and all ships built for other Alliance members will be named for prominent individuals in the history of medicine. The initial production run will include Reverend Julius Hanks, Saint Austin Grayson, Jennifer Chou, and Walter Reed for the GSN, and Aesculapius, Galenos, Hippocrates, and William Turnbull for other Alliance navies. | |
