Juggling Workshop

Come learn how to juggle from Danny Sleator and Martin Zinkevich! Also, Danny will be doing a short presentation of the mathematical theory of juggling. Jester balls will be provided.

Argentine Tango

A Magic Workshop featuring Steven Rudich

Come be amazed by Professor Steven Rudich, the Magician Scholar! He will transform you from novice to miracle worker in 60 minutes! In this hands-on magic seminar you will learn the world's most ancient methods of teletransportation, balls disappear here and reappear there, sometimes into the hands of the spectator. You will leave this workshop with some real magic equipment and the skill to use it. We can guarantee you'll be amazed by his assortment of magic tricks!

***To participate in the Magic Workshop you must register and pay a cost of $15 for a magic kit, which you will be able to keep. Please register/pay for this workshop by signing up at the SCS Day booth on Wednesday, February 5 to Friday, February 7 in Wean Hall (5th floor). MAGIC WORKSHOP is CLOSED!!



A Language Room

They say language is the main barrier to communication across cultures. Not anymore at the Language Room on SCS Day! In this workshop, you'll find language and more from many nations and cultures across the world. We will remove the barriers and let you experience the world!

A Chess Competition

Join us on SCS day for a relaxed game of chess. Fun chess sets and a flexible time slot to play are just a few of the reasons to participate in this fun workshop.

***To participate in the Chess Competition you must sign up at the SCS Day booth on Wednesday, February 5 to Friday, February 7 in Wean Hall (5th floor).

If you register before Friday 5pm (at the SCS Day booth), we will place you for the games in an appropriate category, according to your experience and ratings (or lack thereof).

Alternatively, you can just show up at the UC on Saturday 8, from 4 to 7, and play against other walk-ins, provided that there are any free sets and clocks.

DDR Workshop

Get up and move! Learn to play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), the hit dancing simulation game. You'll get a bit of exercise, look a little silly, and have a lot of fun. This workshop is intended for complete novices, but more experienced players are welcome to come and help others.
