To share that expertise, we frequently convene leaders from government, nonprofits, industry and more to explore and consider the most important issues facing the world today — issues where computer science can play a significant role.

Recent Events

Oct. 26, 2023: SCS hosted the SCS Distinguished Lecture featuring Peter Lee, corporate VP for Research and Incubations at Microsoft Research. Lee's topic was "The Emergence of Generative AI for Healthcare and Medicine". Video Presentation
June 8-9, 2023: The CIH hosted the NSF-NIH Joint Workshop on Emerging AI in Biology. The two-day virtual workshop brought together a select group of world-recognized researchers to discuss current and emerging research on new, fundamental AI technologies that address problems in biology.
