Alan Scheller-Wolf is the Richard M. Cyert Professor of Operations Management at the Tepper School of Business. Scheller-Wolf is an expert on stochastic systems modeling and optimization, and has extensive research experience within healthcare operations domain (organ transplantation, long-term care staffing, blood-products inventory, and staffing of telehealth and emergency departments). His research includes discrete time inventory theory, including perishable inventory, spare parts systems and assemble to order systems; service systems, including healthcare and call centers; queueing theory, encompassing multiserver queues, stability and moment conditions, strategic queueing, closed queueing networks, Markov decision processes; and applications such as renewable energy, product portfolio optimization and parking queues.
