Connexis, anOakbrook, Ill.,company that develops vehicle telematics, has donated $120,000 to the ComputerScience Department to support work on natural language processing. Connexis isdeveloping a natural language interface between drivers and in-vehiclecomputers, such as navigation systems. "This will allow drivers to keep theirhands on the wheel and formulate their requests naturally as if they weretalking to a live agent," according to a company press release.
