Randy Pausch went to Capitol Hill on Jan. 23 to help the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) launch its Raise the Cure campaign, which seeks to combine $170 million in federal funding for pancreatic cancer research with $25 million in private funding over three years. Pausch visited congress members, along with PanCAN's Megan Gordon Don, director of government affairs, left, and Julie Fleshman, president and CEO, right (see accompanying photo) to emphasize the need for more research into pancreatic cancer, now the fourth leading cause of U.S. cancer deaths.
