Pre-G20 Conference Hosted by the Atlantic Council and Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH-In advance of the Pittsburgh Summit for the G20, the Atlantic Council and Carnegie Mellon University, with the support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will host an expert conference examining the steps needed to revitalize economic growth and restore confidence in globalization following the current crisis. Through a series of candid discussions and lectures, senior government officials, business leaders and key policy analysts will look at the mix of political, social, global and local forces needed to renew the world economy.

Topics of conversation include the market impact of innovation; the role of trade and financial regulation in restoring growth; the forces behind educating the workforce for the 21st century economy; and social and political challenges of renewing globalization. A report prepared by the conference participants, "Renewing Globalization and Economic Growth in a Post-Crisis World," will be available at the conference and by mid-September from Carnegie Mellon University Press.
