Three commercially promising technologies being developed at the Quality of Life Technology Center will be discussed by seasoned business and investment professionals, faculty and students at the QoLT Foundry Opportunity Meeting from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Oct. 5 in room 4405 of the Gates and Hillman centers.
Interns at the QoLT Foundry will present their business evaluations for the following technologies:
• Intelligent Coach, which uses Kinect motion sensing to create a supervised at-home physical therapy program for people with osteoarthritis of the knee;
• Virtual Seating Coach, which monitors and evaluates sitting position and could be used to enhance the comfort and health of people who must remain seated for long periods of time;
• Lift Chair, a system for people with mobility limitations that enables them to safely stand and sit within the home.
The opportunity meeting is open to the campus community. Lunch is included. To attend, please email Marian D'Amico by Sept. 23.
The QoLT Foundry helps commercialize technologies developed at the QoLT Center, a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center jointly operated by Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.
