Jeannette Wing, head of the Computer Science Department, and Emma Brunskill, assistant professor of computer science, were part of "Computing and Technology: A Springboard for the Human Mind with Carnegie Mellon University," an IdeasLab presentation at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of New Champions Sept. 11-13 in Tianjin, China.

The other IdeasLab participants are Golan Levin, an associate professor of art who has a courtesy appointment in the School of Computer Science, and Jesse Schell, assistant professor of entertainment technology.

The common thread among the presentations will be the groundbreaking research that takes place at the university through collaboration at the intersections of science, technology, art, humanities, business and policy. The presenters explored embracing curiosity, advanced technology and new ways of thinking. More information is available here.

Wing and Brunskill also were featured individually on other panels during the meeting, often referred to as "Summer Davos," in reference to the WEF's annual winter meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
