Carnegie Mellon’s role in the rebirth of Pittsburgh following the collapse of the steel industry is highlighted in “The Robots That Saved Pittsburgh,” an article in the latest issue of Politico magazine. The story by Glenn Thrush features the Robotics Institute’s Red Whittaker and includes nods to faculty members including Luis von Ahn, Raj Reddy, Sanjiv Singh and Manuel, Avrim and Lenore Blum.
