MLD Ph.D. student So Yeon (Tiffany) Min has been named a 2023 Apple Scholar in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

So Yeon (Tiffany) Min, a third-year Ph.D. student in the Machine Learning Department (MLD) at Carnegie Mellon University, has been named a 2023 Apple Scholar in AI/ML. She is one of 22 students selected for the fellowship based on their innovative research, record as thought leaders and collaborators, and commitment to advancing their respective fields.

The Apple Scholars in AI/ML Ph.D. program recognizes the contributions of researchers in computer science and engineering at the graduate and postgraduate level. Each scholar receives funding as they pursue their Ph.D., internship opportunities, and mentorship with an Apple researcher in their field.

Min conducts research in embodied AI and is interested in creating robust multimodal spatial representations and deploying robots for real-world impact. She is co-advised by MLD Professor Ruslan Salakhutdinov and Yonatan Bisk, an assistant professor in both the Language Technologies Institute and the Robotics Institute.
