Key researcher in the project "Facial Expression Analysis by Computer Image Processing". Developing robust and powerful methods for facial features detection, tracking, and automated facial expressions analysis that can generalize to a wide range of users and applications.

    1. In charge of the design, implementation and evaluation of a 3D facial data reconstruction and analysis system for facial orthopedic surgery.
    2. In charge of the project to reconstruct 3D information by mosaic technique from video image sequence.
    3. In charge of the project entitled Computer Vision-based animation.
    4. In charge of the implementation of the 3D Hand Features Identity Verification System.
    5. In charge of the Micro-vision system for microscopic image processing.
    6. Participate in the project of Multi-scale Similarity Measurement and Content-based Image Retrieval.

Participating in the project "Physics-based shape recovery techniques". Developed several more practical extended light source models and derived the new intensity equations and the reflectance maps corresponding to the new light source models. Based on the extended light source models, several shape recovery techniques which can be applied under general laboratory or factory conditions were proposed.

Developed the laser range finder system for 3D object modeling and the software for analyzing range image. Participated the project of 3D Active Vision to build the vision testbed and the project of object recognition.
