This homework is due in two parts. The first part is
due on Feb 22, the other is due on Feb 29.This is a group project
-
This homework involves the analysis, design and development of a
simple decision support system. The client is a hydroelectric plant
that needs to comply with a state government regulation relatinng to
salmon that spawn in the Connecticut river. The case document provides substantive details and
the type of questions that need to be answered. It is a word document.
- This case involves working with simple influence diagram and
decision tree models of the problem. In addition, it involves
computing simple financial models such as net present value. I would
like you to develop the appropriate models and implement a decision
support tool using both DPL and Excel. This will give you the
opportunity to build integrated solutions and will familiarize you
with developing solutions for a client with an Windows-based IT
architecture.
- To help you schedule your work, the first part consisting of the
statement of the decision tree model, influence diagram and net
present value model is due on Feb 22. This roughly corresponds
to the analysis phase of the exercise. The complete report alonng with
a functioning DSS, examples of sensitivity analysis and other interactions that are necessary to
provide insight to the manager in charge of the fish ladder decision
is due on Feb 29.
