About the LPAR Conferences
The series of International Conferences on Logic for Programming, Artificial Intelligence and Reasoning (LPAR) grew out of the 1st and 2nd Russian Conferences on Logic Programming (RCLP), held in 1990 and 1991. In 1992, the scope was extended to include automated reasoning and it was renamed the International Conference on Logic Programming and Automated Reasoning (LPAR), acknowledging along the way the enormous interest from contributors outside Russia. In 1994, it took to the road and became an itinerant event that prides itself in "boldly going where no reasonable conference has gone before". Along the way, it became one of the most sought-after meetings in computational logic in the conference circuit. In 2001 again it extended its scope to include artificial intelligence and acquired its present name (but the acronym remained the same).
Since its inception in 1990, the proceedings of LPAR/RCLP have been published
by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. DBLP
maintains a bibliography
of the LPAR proceedings.
