Incoming storm

(26) A storm moves in; it began raining not long after. Shot with the 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 27mm, 1/100s, f/11, ISO 400, handheld.

Ladybug

(27) A ladybird beetle, or ladybug. This rather calm insect didn't seem to care as I experimented with the 50mm f/2 macro + EX-25 extension tube, using the tripod as a heavy monopod to keep things somewhat stable. f/6.3, 1/60s, ISO 400. Backlighting makes for an ugly exposure.

Ladybug upside-down

(28) A ladybird beetle on the underside of a leaf. Shot with the 50mm f/2 macro + EX-25 extension tube, at f/5.6, 1/50s, ISO 800. 50% crop.

Chipmunk

(29) A nervous chipmunk gets ready to flee. Shot with the 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 plus EC-14 teleconverter, at composite f-stop and focal length of f/4.9 and 283mm respectively. 1/160s, ISO 800. Metering was biased -0.7 stops EV comp as the scene was dark and speed was necessary to get a remotely-frozen chipmunk, and because I was using the monopod only so stability could have been better.

Caterpillar portrait

(30) A head-on portrait of a caterpillar walking on a parking meter. This was taken with the 50mm f/2, 1/60s, f/4, ISO 800 -- little light was available. 50% crop.
