The Engineer will give credit for engineering work to those to whom credit is due, and will recognize the proprietary interests of others.

Code is relevant when:

Engineer is involved in engineering work

Code is violated when:

Engineer does not give credit for the engineering work to those to whom credit is due
OR
Engineer does not recognize the proprietary interests of others

Code is not violated when

Engineer gives credit for the engineering work to those to whom credit is due
AND
Engineer recognizes the proprietary interests of others
