First of all, if you want to know what is a simulated NAO, we invite you to look at the What is a simulated Robot section.
They are several ways to connect to a simulated NAO:
This is the simplest way to do it:
Click on Connection > Connect to a local NAOqi using the menu bar.
The 3D view shows the simulated NAO.
A major issue of this method is that this simulated NAO is dependent of Choregraphe and is not accessible from other applications such as Monitor.
Another way to connect to a simulated NAO is to launch NAOqi and to connect Choregraphe to it:
Launch NAOqi by double clicking on naoqi/naoqi-bin in your installation folder.
In Choregraphe, click on Connection > Connect to... in the menu bar or click on the connection button in the tool bar:
In the robot browser, if the simulated robot is in the list on the left, double click on it, if not, set the IP address to 127.0.0.1 and port to 9559 and click on Connect to.
You are now connected to a simulated NAO that is independent of Choregraphe.
The last way to connect Choregraphe to a simulated NAO, is to connect to NAOsim:
Run NAOsim.
